"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm,
and carry them close to his heart, and shall gently lead those that are with young." Isaiah 40:11

"If any of you wants to be my follower, you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross daily, and follow me.  If you try to keep your life for youself, you will lose it.  But if you give up your life for me, you will find TRUE LIFE.  And how do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose or forfeit your own soul in the process?" - Jesus

Funny - this quote reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit today...
i downloaded it one day & read it out loud to Mollen in one sitting & sobbed partway through 'cause it hit me differently as an adult than it did when i was a child.

I find this passage of scripture very interesting and thought provoking. Jesus commands us to follow Him. Period. He doesn't suggest we follow Him when things are going well and we are happy with life; nor does He say,"Follow Me when you don't understand and you are hurting and need a shoulder to cry on." Instead, He simply says, "Shoulder your cross daily, and follow Me." Follow Jesus daily, regardless of our feelings or emotions, regardless of our understanding of the situation we are in, regardless if we feel like it at any given moment. Follow Me. No conditions attached. No "ifs, ands, or buts." Just simply, "Follow Me." Some days are easier than others (as you well know) to do that.

That is such a wonderful idea - beautiful! I also loved the blog book you did for your parents. Great keepsakes.

Thanks Kendra - I need this scripture today. My selfish ambition takes over far too often.

p.s. I loved seeing your Manitoba pictures - especially the one with your grandma! (She reminds me so much of my own...) And Rachel looks so sweet!
