"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm,
and carry them close to his heart, and shall gently lead those that are with young." Isaiah 40:11

From My Reading Today

"Only by dying could He break the power of the Devil, who had the power of death.  Only in this way could He deliver those who have lived all their lives as slaves to the fear of dying."
Hebrews 2:14-15

Thank-you Jesus.

dave and kendra, i continue to read every post. i read and smile and cry and pray while i read. dear friends, you are walking a narrow way - the one our Father tells us leads to real life. i know so little about that . . . and everything in my heart wants to make the pain go away for you . . . but i know a little of the truth that only God satisfies us. may he satisfy your souls in a sun scorched land with water from the well that never runs dry!
loving you!

Dave and Kendra,
We love you guys!!
Even though we don't leave comments, we read everyone of your updates and pray for you. Please know that we stand with you. We are so encouraged to have friends like you. Who are not afraid to love deeply, (even if you are afraid, you do it anyways), you were bold enough to carry Rachel, to call her by name and you give her such dignity by the way you treat her. Even though she has reflected God so clearly to you, YOU have reflected so clearly God's GREAT love to her. You do that every time you hold her in the middle of the night, feed her, calm her in her fussyness(or at least be with her in her fussyness) - you do that in all the ways you are such a great mom and dad (you know them).
No my friends, It is you I am so proud to count as friends, because you have risen up and loved unabandonly your child, the child God created for you to love (even if only for a short time) - although you will always love her. Our society would much rather have terminated her during pregnancy - you chose LIFE - you are saying she has value and deserves the deep love you have for her (just like what you said in your sermon dave)you are reflecting God's image to her, your children, family and friends and I suspect you will be teachers to others who will go through the same kind of thing as you,(or who can just simply learn more about who God is and how he wants us to love, and be his image bearers,) ,when you write your own book. I am talking about writing a book about your journey with Rachel. You know you need to, if you need encouragement about why I think it is obvious God is calling you to write this book, I would love for you to call me.

Hey Kendra, I also wanted to say - don't be afraid to cut yourself some slack and eat some brownies, you are going through what probably will be the MOST stressful situation you will go through in your life. You gotta do what you can do keep on treading water when all you feel like doing is drowning. And if you don't want to meet people at the gym go to a different one. Exercise is such a great release of tension, you don't need to add tension when all you are trying to do is release it.
(just one girlfriend, trying to give another some support!)
We are going to pray that tonight till saturday while you are at that cool place, that you will get lots of REM sleep and that you can rest peacefully knowing that Rachel is safe and in the best care with those nurses.
We love you guys, and even though we don't write, are hearts are with you.
ps. kendra, i think it is neat that songs are so powerful for you, i will never forget when we were teenagers and you and evonne were belting out some hymn as we were driving in some old car down an old dirt road - I was amazed at how beautiful your voices sounded. So amazed that i still remember it today. I was very proud of you when rachel was first born you sang Jesus love you to her. That is so true . And true for you and Dave.
LOADS of love,
Laura (for Chuck too!)
