In the Rustling Grass I Hear Him Pass

I really connected with this song this afternoon and I thought it fit really well with some pictures that Dave took at Nose Hill this morning with the kids.  I was praying for friends this afternoon who are sorrowing and hurting, both physically and in other ways.  Sometimes it seems like there is too much wrong with this world and not enough good.  It is good to have my heart opened to seeing the beauty around me too! And there really is SO much beauty still.  Father God, Thank-you for reminding me that this is Your World.  You will have the last word yet.

This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father's world. O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father's world: why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

This is my Father's world: He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.

  4. Beauty is such a healing thing...and somehow our hearts are more tuned to beauty when there is pain and darkness around us. That has been my experience at least. Lovely pictures.

  5. Yes, beautiful! Thanks for sharing that. I wanted to pass an idea on to you. Today hospice delivered a hand mold that they did for each of the kids. It is PRECIOUS. It is an exact replica of Calvin's hand, wrinkles, ridges and all. It's a 3D mold, not just a handprint. We also did one of my hand holding his. It's such a visible reminder of his life, maybe it's something you'd like too.

  6. I used to sing this song when I was a kid at girls club and has been a special one for me since then. Yes, it's important to see God's amazing glory all around us. Even in small things like ladybugs.
