Do you want to know something incredibly beautiful though? One of our new Respite workers had a dream about Rachel before she heard about her! She had dreamt she was holding a baby - her husband said that she never dreams about babies. A day or two later they were over at our friend's place. Our pastor friend told them about our need for respite and right away she sensed that Rachel was the baby she had dreamt about. I nearly cried when I heard that. Thank-you God! No matter how long they decide to work for us, we know that they are an answer to prayer.
Last night Ethan asked to hold Rachel before going to bed. I just had to take this picture. |
I am noticing that it is getting more difficult to carry Rachel around...and she does SO love to be held alot. I don't think she is that much heavier, but she has grown alot in length and she doesn't hold her head up. Speaking of growing longer, I have a question for my Calgary friends. Does anyone have Girl newborn/ 0-3 month sleepers that I can borrow? (She doesn't grow that fast so we'll probably have them for awhile) I borrowed alot for Abigail so I don't have much under 6 months. It would be best if you were not expecting to use them again. I will try my best to keep them in great shape, but you know how things play out in real life. Thank-you:)

God is amazing in how he connects us with the right people at the right time! Praise Him! So happy for you.
Praise God for respite and the chance for more sleep! The picture of Ethan with his little sister is beautiful. Praying that Rachel's cold will clear up soon; poor lil' thing.
kendra, that picture is priceless - when i saw it i started crying . . .
i am so glad to hear that you now have respite 5 nights a week! wow!! praise God!!
also, did you ever try the peapod baby carrier? i meant to send mine with paul and sandi and then didn't have the time. if you can find one it may help with carrying rachel. the cloth is like a heavy duty t-shirt type material and you can hold newborns with no neck support really snuggly and comfortably while you go about your day. if dave's parents are coming out soon i can send mine with them. i think they are about $50 new. maybe you could find one used too . . .
Deeply moving picture, very precious. A strong, loving father teaching his son to become the same someday. Beautiful! May you be blessed with the ability to sleep deeply and peacefully tonight!
Love you,
Carol

Hey! You've got the Wailin' Jennies! One of my favourite groups. How goes the night respite? Are you sleeping??
Do you still need 0-3 girl sleepers? or other clothes for that matter? I am a friend of Rachel Friesen's and read your blog periodically when she puts it on facebook. My third daughter is now into and almost out of 3-6 month clothes and I have clothes to donate if you want them. I live very close to the children's hospital. email me at ck_hattrick@yahoo.com
