Day Four

We just gave her some breast milk in a syringe and so far she seems to be taking it well!! We're alternating this with the glucose water. We have heard babies crying all the time. This and so many other reminders are all around us of what life could be and is not. It feels so good and right as a mother to be able to do this one thing for her.

just another note - Rachel is so loved by the nurses here!!! During the last two nights we have had a good amount of rest while she is passed around. Everyone wants to hold our little girl. During a stretch of 4 hours tonight, she wasn't in her bed one time!

We're looking forward to moving to the Hospice later and to being together as a family.

The hospice sounds like it will be a wonderful thing for your family, I'm so glad you'll be able to devote all of your attention to each other. Prayers as always are being said for you all. 6. Kendra,

I have been thinking of you so much and am just now getting caught up on your blog. Sweet baby Rachel...a little fighter and such a precious baby. Praying your time with her in your arms in more than you could ever ask or imagine. I know God is so near to all of you and you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. You are a courageous family and the impact of your lives will be felt for generations.

Snuggle sweet Rachel for me and whisper in her ear a little, "I love you."

Praying for peace and hope to fill your room even now.
    Sending love,
    Laura Huene

  7. Dave & Kendra, Ethan and Abigail,
Grace and peace to you all. Praying that your whole family will be blessed beyond measure in the time you have with Rachel. She is lovely. I see that God is daily giving you the courage you asked for before Rachel was born. And when you don't feel strong and courageous, that's okay too - our God is strong enough to carry you through those times
Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you all.
    Carol
